MFOLSJ Ambassador Program

As an organization run by youth, we have always believed in the power of young activists. Our Ambassador Program empowers high school students in the San Jose area to advocate for gun violence prevention in their schools. Ambassadors have unique leadership opportunities like hosting walkouts and other events on their campuses.

What does the program entail?

Ambassadors attend two meetings a month, both of which are led by the Volunteer/Interscholastic Coordinator. One meeting is dedicated to skill-building workshops that equip ambassadors with the tools to be effective change-makers. With these unique skillsets, ambassadors become prepared to eventually apply for and progress to the March For Our Lives, San Jose lead team.

The other monthly meeting is focused on advocacy. In these meetings, ambassadors receive briefings on MFOLSJ events, how to assume leadership roles in such events, and planning activities in their school communities.

Who is the program open to?

The program is open to dedicated middle, high school, and college students! We love having a diversity of schools represented in the ambassador program, so we welcome many students from many different backgrounds.
